Virus-host interactions of MERS-CoV: how MERS-CoV overcomes the innate immune response to establish infection

Dr Christopher Coleman completed his PhD at The University of Sheffield studying the interactions between RSV and peripheral blood neutrophils. He then moved to a postdoctoral position at Ohio State University studying interactions between HIV-1 and dendritic cells. His second postdoctoral position was at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he worked on many aspects of highly pathogenic human coronaviruses SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.

A common theme in his research has been the study of virus: host interactions, and he has now moved to the University of Leeds where he is starting a new research group studying the virus: host interactions of MERS-CoV.
