STI co-endemicity and the role of point of care tests for resistance guided therapy

This seminar will discuss the outcomes of the ‘Precise’ study, which aimed to develop point of care antimicrobial resistance tests for Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Mycoplasma genitalium infection to ensure accurate resistance guided therapy and antibiotic stewardship in sexual health medicine. Claire will also present data from a sub-study looking at STI co-infections, macrolide resistance and risk factors associated with MG infection from London based symptomatic clinic attendees.

 

About the speaker

Claire Broad is a PhD student under the MRC London Intercollegiate Doctoral Training Partnership between St George's University of London (SGUL) and LSHTM, she is based at SGUL in the Applied Diagnostic Research and Evaluation Unit.
