31st Annual HSR Lecture, Can Social Care Save The NHS?

Biography: Martin Knapp is Professor of Social Policy and Director of the Personal Social Services Research Unit at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He has also been Director of the NIHR School for Social Care Research since 2009. His principal current research interests are dementia, child and adult mental health, autism and long-term social care. Much of his work has an economic focus with the aim of teasing out policy implications.

Improvements in the amount and quality of social care is widely seen as key to health services meeting rising demand. In his lecture he will address whether social care might meet such expectations.
