I have worked in clinical trial administration and management for the last 5 years in both academic and NHS settings. In 2013, I joined LSHTM as assistant trial manager for the PREVENTT trial and prior to this, I worked on clinical trials in stroke and oncology. I have a BSc in Genetics from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Translational Medicine from Cranfield University.
I began working at the school in May 2013 as assistant trial manager for the PREVENTT (Preoperative intravenous iron to treat anaemia in major surgery) trial. PREVENTT is a multicentre, randomised controlled trial recruiting at 35-40 sites across the UK.The trial is currently completing site set up and recruitment is due to finish in 2016.
From November 2015, I am now also managing follow up for the AIMS trial (Aortic Irbesartan in Marfans Study). This is a multicentre, randomised controlled trial running at 22 sites across the UK. Follow up is due to finish in 2018.
Prior to this, I worked as Stroke Database Administrator at St George's University of London. I provided data and administerative support for the DNA Lacunar, VIST and CADISS trial. For a six month period, I provided maternity cover for the CADISS trial coordinator.
From 2009 to 2010, I worked at Bristol Oncology Centre as the trial coordinator for a range of academic and pharmaceutical oncology clinical trials. I was involved in setting up the trial local, arranging local approvals and data entry for lung, urology, testicular and gynaecology trials.
