Research Degree Student
I joined LSHTM as a Research Degree Student in January 2021. Prior to this I supported the government response to COVID-19 in the Cabinet Office and have completed the MSc in Publich Health at LSHTM. I am a medical doctor with a degree from Universiy Marburg and have researched the neural correlates of social interaction in patients with depression and schizophrenia using functional magnetic resonance imaging.
My PhD is funded by the National Institute for Health Research Health Protection Unit (NIHR HPRU) in Immunsation. My project is centred around vaccine uptake and how this is impacted by mental health conditions using Electronic Health Records. I will mainly focus on mental health issues in mothers and how this is impacting the vaccination status of their children. Further, I am aiming to explore different patterns of vaccination uptake and how they can be predicted by mental health and other social inequalities and how this has changed pre and post COVID-19.
