I completed my undergraduate study at Imperial College London (2005) and PhD at Cambridge University (2009). Since obtaining my PhD, I have carried out post-doctoral research at

  • The University of Melbourne, Australia, 
  • the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences
  • MRC Prion Unit, UCL

where I studied protein structure, function and self-assembly using a variety of biophysical techniques including X-ray fibre diffraction, electron microscopy and solution-based assays.

I am co-Module Organiser of the distance learning module IDM102, Principles of Biology.

Research

I have been at LSHTM since August 2016, applying biophysical methods to the study of translation in Myocbacterium tuberculosis. I use a combination of ribosome profiling and isolation and analysis of ribosome-nascent chain complexes to better understand the translational machinery and its regulation.
