Press & Communications Assistant
As the Press and Communications Assistant, I am responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the press office, which ensures the School's leading research is promoted in the media.
I also manage the School's main social media accounts — Facebook, Twitter and Instagram — and lead on social media activity to enhance the School's profile and reputation.
Working closely with the School's Media Manager and Press and Communications Officer, I respond to requests from the media for interviews with our experts and for information about the School. Providing administrative support to the press office, I also monitor print, broadcast and online media coverage and oversee any filming that takes place on School site.
Prior to joining the School in June 2016, I completed an internship at the Science Media Centre, which offered experience in working between science and the news media. I graduated with an MSc in Science Communication & Society from the University of Kent, where I also studied Biology as an undergraduate.
