I have worked as a Cochrane Managing Editor, Copy Editor and Editor for over 25 years, with three different review-producing groups across Cochrane. I currently work part time for the Cochrane Injuries Group, based at LSHTM, and as Production Manager for Cochrane’s Central Executive Team, where I manage the copy editing and publication of Cochrane systematic reviews and protocols.
The Cochrane Injuries work involves the production and review of Cochrane systematic reviews (the gold standard in evidence-based health care). These reviews address critical care medicine – particularly blood transfusion and the prevention of bleeding – and the prevention of, treatment for, and rehabilitation after injury. These reviews are published in the Cochrane Library.
I am an advocate for plain language in the dissemination of science, and project-managed the Cochrane Plain Language Summaries project (2020-21), which produced a template and revised guidance – now adopted by Cochrane – for Cochrane Plain Language Summaries.
