Dr Cristina Renzi

Cristina qualified in medicine and specialized in public health in Rome, Italy, and completed an MSc in Epidemiology at LSHTM. Before moving to the UK, Cristina worked as a public health physician and epidemiologist in Italy and the USA. She has a specific research interest in the evaluation of diagnostic pathways and factors influencing timely cancer diagnosis. In her role as principal investigator of a Cancer Research UK funded project and a BMA TP Gunton award she has worked on examining opportunities for reducing emergency cancer diagnosis. For her ongoing work at LSHTM and at UCL, where she is part of the CanTest Cancer Research UK collaborative, she is using linked primary care, secondary care and cancer registration data examining symptomatic presentations and healthcare utilisation patterns during the pre-diagnostic period.
