Victoria Ponce Hardy
for Newborn and Child Development
I joined LSHTM in 2017 after completing an MSc in Public Health, with a focus on children's environmental health. I have a BSc in Geography from the University of Edinburgh.
I am a tutor on the DL module Writing and Reviewing Epidemiological Papers and a facilitator on the Basic Epidemiology module.
My work at LSHTM has focused on early child development and newborn health. I was the managing editor for a series of 5 papers on implementation of early child development programmes in LMIC and was the acting study coordinator for the EN-SMILING project, with site partners in Bangladesh, Tanzania and Nepal.
I currently work on the Every Newborn-INDEPTH project, with site partners in Uganda, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Bangladesh and Ghana. The project aims to improve survey measurement of pregnancy outcomes including fertility intention, birthweight, stillbirth, termination of pregnancy, coverage of birth and death certification, and gestational age.
