I am currently an Academic Clinical Fellow at the School and a Specialty Registrar in infectious diseases and general medicine at University College Hospital, London. Before this I spent a number of years at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, Oxford, where I completed my doctoral research as a Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellow.

Teaching

I teach on a various courses and modules including the MSc Infectious Diseases by Distance Learning and the East African Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene.

Research

The main focus of my research is investigating host genetic susceptibility to group A streptococcal disease especially rheumatic heart disease although I have a wide variety of interests including measuring disease burden in low resource settings using record-linkage.
