Esin Nkereuwem is a Clinical Research Fellow in the Vaccines and Immunity Theme at the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM. He is also a research student in the Clinical Research Department, Faculty of Infectious & Tropical Diseases, LSHTM. His research aims to improve the diagnosis, management, and outcomes of childhood tuberculosis (TB) and other respiratory diseases in developing countries.
Esin completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Faculty of Paediatrics of the West African College of Physicians. He also completed a Master's in Public Health for Development at the LSHTM as a Chevening scholar.
Currently, Esin is pursuing his PhD research to identify and measure the multidimensional sequelae of pulmonary TB in Gambian children. His PhD research is funded by a Career Development Fellowship (CDF) from the EDCTP2 Programme, supported by the European Union (grant number: TMA2020CDF-3197).
