Dr Julien Martinez
Dr. Julien Martinez is a Research Fellow in the Department of Disease Control. He works on the GenoScent project (MRC-funded) looking at the mechanisms of human attractiveness to malaria mosquitoes with Professor James Logan. Before joining the Department, he studied the ecology and evolution of heritable microbes in insects. In particular, during his PhD at the University of Lyon (France), he investigated the effects of a behaviour-manipulating virus in parasitic wasps. He also studied the genetics of antiviral resistance conferred by Wolbachia symbionts in fruit flies during his postdoc at the University of Cambridge (UK).
