Inke is a paediatrician, and prior to starting her PhD at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in October 2013, she worked in the Department of Paediatrics, University of North Sumatera, Indonesia. She did her paediatric training at the University of North Sumatera, Indonesia and infectious diseases internship at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, Vietnam.
Inke's PhD project is focused on the epidemiology of human malaria in North Sumatera and the efficacy of Artemisinin Combination Therapies (ACTs) particularly dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine and artemether-lumefantrine for Plasmodium falciparum infection. She conducted her field study in Indonesia between January and June 2015. Her PhD is undersupervision of Dr. Colin Sutherland.
