Patrick Keating is a data scientist with the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team and forms part of its deployable team. Patrick obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Dundee in 2008 and subsequently completed an MSc in Public Health in 2012 at LSHTM. Since graduating from LSHTM, Patrick has worked in the academic, NGO and private sectors including deploying mobile applications for maternal and child health programmes in Senegal and Burkina Faso. In 2017, he completed the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) in Austria, where his work was focused on measles, HIV and hepatitis B and C. He has also worked with MSF in Ethiopia as an epidemiologist, where he restructured a community-based surveillance system.
