I joined the Department of Health Services Research and Policy in 2012. My interests include various aspects of health systems and health policy. I have experience in qualitative and mixed methods research.
My teaching activities include seminar leading, exam question development and marking for a number of MSc modules.
I am a seminar leader on the 'Health Policy, Process and Power' and 'Health Systems' modules.
I also teach on the Distance Learning 'Health Systems' module.
I am currently working on two different projects; ‘Towards improved screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer in all of Europe’ and ‘A new model of evidence for population health improvement’.
Past projects include work on SPOTLIGHT - a cross-European research project for sustainable prevention of obesity through integrated strategies – where I managed a large-scale survey conducted in England assessing the perceptions of the environmental obesogenicity in selected neighbourhoods, and assessed the built environment using remote imaging (GSV). I also worked on ECAB - a European cross-border healthcare research project, as well as a project investigating economic crises and resilience in Russia.
