Dr Kate Gaskell
MBChB MSc MRCP MCEM
Research Fellow
I graduated from Edinburgh University in 2006 and took the MSc in Tropical Medicine and International Health at LSHTM in 2008. I trained in Emergency Medicine and then spent some time in HIV/GUM Medicine in London before working at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre Malawi. There I worked as a Medical Registrar and took on an academic role with the University of Liverpool running a study site of a Phase 3 RCT Drug Trial aiming to improve outcomes in Cryptococcal Meningitis across Africa. On my return to the UK I took up an academic clinical fellow post as an Infectious Diseases SpR at LSHTM. This led on to Wellcome Trust funding through the BLoomsbury Global Health PhD scheme for my current position as a PhD student.
