I'm a parasite immunologist focusing on Schistosoma mansoni. I am currently based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe, Uganda. I joined LSHTM at the end of 2021 as a Research Fellow. I completed my PhD on immune responses during the skin-stage infection at Makerere University.

Research
My research vision is to develop optimal vaccines against neglected parasitic infections such as schistosomiasis, leading to improved health of populations at risk in Africa and the tropics. My research has three foci.
Focus 1. Identifying Schistosoma-specific protective human immune responses to guide vaccine design and (preclinical) development
Focus 2. Integrating controlled human infection models in vaccine trials to accelerate schistosomiasis vaccine development.
Focus 3. Building the capacity for schistosomiasis research in an endemic setting
