I am a pediatrician from Bolivia and Belgium. I studied medicine and pediatrics in Brussels (University of Louvain). I hold a Masters in Tropical Medicine & International Health and a PhD in Public Health, both from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
I have worked as a humanitarian with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Burundi, Haiti, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and the Central African Republic.
I have worked in academia at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. My main area of research was the study of factors that enable the adoption of innovations to improve child health outcomes in low-, middle-, and high-income countries (including India, Bangladesh, Kenya, England, and the Netherlands).
I recently joined UNICEF. I currently lead the health and nutrition section of the Ghana country office.
