Sarah coordinates and manages the evolving work plan, strategy and priorities of the Global Burden of Disease Independent Advisory Committee (IAC).  The GBD IAC, chaired by Peter Piot, is an independent committee of global experts who provide strategic guidance and feedback on the Global Burden of Disease methodology and results. 

Prior to her appointment at the LSHTM, Sarah conducted research and managed nutrition policy programs at the Center on Globalization and Sustainable Development at the Earth Institute of Columbia University. She has worked on food security projects and nutrition policy advisory work in Tanzania, Haiti, Timor-Leste and Myanmar.

Sarah previously spent four years in the Press and Communications team at the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations in New York and has also served in EU’s Delegation to the USA in Washington DC and in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. She holds a BA from the University of Leeds, an MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE) and an MPA from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, New York.
