Sharon joined the Electronic Health Records group in the Department of Non-Communicable Epidemiology in June 2019 as a Research Fellow. She is currently working on a number of projects related to Dementia and Encephalitis, using UK electronic health data from the Clinical Practice Research Database (CPRD) and linked Hospital Episode Statistics data. She holds a PhD in Health Services Research, Master of Public Health (Epidemiology and Bio-statistics) and BSc in Public Health and Health Promotion from University College Cork, Ireland. Her PhD research involved the use of routinely collected laboratory data linked with primary care data to design and evaluate a laboratory based intervention targeting unnecessary test ordering in Primary Care.
