I am the Research Programme Manager for LSHTM’s Environmental Health Group (EHG), providing strategic leadership and management to the EHG. The EHG consists of around 30 staff, working on approximately 25 research projects focusing on water, sanitation, and hygiene. I work with the Director and the Senior Management group on strategic planning, monitoring and accountability, EHG governance and staffing, fundraising and financial operations. I also lead a team of three Project Managers and one Project Administrator.
Prior to this I was the LSHTM Project Manager for the Unitaid/PSI HIV Self-Testing Africa (STAR) Project. Before joining LSHTM I have had around ten years of experience of managing international development work. This included several years based in Belize, managing HIV training and communications projects; a few years as a Programme Coordinator at the Tropical Health and Eduction Trust (THET), supporting the establishment and projects of Health Links partnerships; and four years at Options Consultancy Services, as a Programme Manager on the DFID and Gates funded multi-country Evidence for Action - MamaYe programme, which aimed to save maternal and newborn lives by improving evidence, advocacy and accountability.
