Abrar Alasmari obtained a medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and a Master’s degree in health policy from City, University of London. Prior to her MSc, Abrar worked as a Medical Doctor in Saudi Arabia and Romania. She obtained a PhD from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in 2020. Abrar was also a visiting doctoral lab-based researcher in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. Abrar is also a member of the LSHTM ethics committee.
