The Department of Medical Statistics (MSD) undertakes broad-based research in applied projects and in statistical methodology. We have established a reputation for being a leading innovative centre for biostatistical methodology relevant to medical research.

Much of our research can be classified under four broad areas: statistical methodology, epidemiological statistics, clinical trials, and pharmaco-epidemiology. This covers a very wide range of applications across medicine and public health, with particular expertise in cardiovascular and neurological diseases. Our work involves extensive, often international, collaboration. We are home of the Centre for Statistical Methodology.
