Profile: David Tigawalana
David Tigawalana from Uganda studying for Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene
"It was in 1994-95 that I first came to the School for the MSc Epidemiology. A nice experience for me because, apart from getting exposed to international public health issues, I had a chance to interact with colleagues from across the developed and developing world.
I am now a Director District Health Services (DDHS), the equivalent of a district medical officer in other countries. I am stationed in Kamuli district, Southeastern Uganda. In addition to the general management of health services in the district, I am responsible for disease control, including epidemic management. The country has got a very effective disease surveillance system to which districts have to report on a weekly basis for all epidemic-prone diseases."
Ambrose Okeke also studied for Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene
