Profile: Michele Daniels
Michele Daniels from Canada studied the MSc Control of Infectious Diseases
"After obtaining a BSc from the University of Winnipeg, and working as a nurse manager after my B.N. from the University of Manitoba, I worked in the area of aquatic physiology and human platelet physiology. Later through CIDA/DFAIT. I obtained an internship with the Ghana Guinea Worm Eradication Programme/Global 2000, and spent time in Ghana's Volta region. After that I knew I wanted to pursue work in tropical diseases and development. Whilst in Ghana, I read about the School with its great reputation in research and leadership in tropical medicine. The past year has been challenging but rewarding not least because of meeting people from around the world with the same drive to learn more. Adjusting to any new environment can be difficult, but the support from my tutor and classmates has been tremendous and I would not have traded it for anything!"
