Tuberculosis (IDM502)
Aims
The aim of this module is to give students a broad understanding of TB control, with an emphasis on the biology and pathology of tuberculosis, and how modern techniques of molecular biology and immunology can be harnessed to combat an old plague.

15 credits are offered on successful completion of this module.
Prerequisites and Selection
Those wishing to study this module should have regular access to the internet to benefit from library facilities, participate in web-based conference discussions and submit assignments.
Students should have a prior knowledge of basic biochemistry, cell biology, genetics and immunology in order to be able to work through and benefit fully from this module. Please see the module outline for more details.
