Bacterial Infections (IDM201)
Aims
This module aims to give students an understanding of the biology of bacteria as pathogens. It will focus on the major bacterial diseases and the other important types of bacterial infection, urinary tract infection and perinatal infection. The infections will be considered in groups related to the body systems infected.
Credits
15 credits are offered on successful completion of this module.
Prerequisites and Selection
Those wishing to study this module should have regular access to the internet to benefit from library facilities, participate in web-based conference discussions and submit assignments.
Students should have a prior knowledge of basic biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology and parasitology in
