Human Genetic Epidemiology (EPM306)

Aims

This module aims to provide an introduction to the main concepts and applications of human genetic epidemiology. The module explores how genotyping methods and statistical techniques can be used in epidemiological studies to facilitate human disease research, in particular to investigate the role of genetic inheritance in disease.

15 credits are offered on successful completion of this module.

Prerequisites and Selection

Those wishing to study this module should have regular access to the internet to benefit from library facilities, participate in web-based conference discussions and submit assignments. 

Prior epidemiology knowledge and experience is needed - please see the Module Outline for more details.
