A work or life transition can bring a sense of excitement or achievement, yet may also bring a mixture of emotions including anxiety, loss and disappointment. In this workshop we will explore in a confidential environment the many facets of transitions, and what can help people make them successfully, applying the ideas to situations that have meaning for you (which may include research career transitions, changing job/role, promotion, family changes, life stages, end of contracts, retirement).

Ursula draws on her experience as an academic, staff developer, coach and counsellor in devising and delivering this workshop.

By the end of the workshop you will have:
1. reflected on major transitions or changes you have made, identified the feelings involved, and explored factors which have helped or hindered you;
2. explored some ideas and models that are useful in understanding the process of change and transition, and applied these to your own situation;
3. considered the use of some techniques and exercises to help you develop self-awareness, confidence and a vision to support you as you make a transition;
4. identified any key blocks that may hinder you in making a successful transition or change and started to consider the next steps for you.

There will be an opportunity for some participants to follow up the workshop with some individual coaching sessions with Ursula.
