Background
I joined the Department of Public Health & Policy at LSHTM in October 2005. I previously worked as a researcher at the Social Science Research Unit, Institute of Education.
Teaching
I teach on the following modules at LSHTM: Principles of Social Research; Health Promotion Theory; Health Promotion Approaches and Methods.
Research
I am currently working on a MRC-funded project exploring how young people's social networks influence their health-related behaviours. The research is supervised by Chris Bonell (LSHTM), Patrick West (University of Glasgow) and Laurence Moore (Cardiff University) and will identify scope for new public health interventions.
I am also a co-investigator on the Healthy School Ethos project. This study examines the feasibility of a new intervention promoting positive and inclusive school ethos and its potential for reducing students' substance use. This project is funded by the MRC and directed by Chris Bonell (LSHTM) and Vicki Strange (Institute of Education).
