Background
I am a medical geographer with research interests in vector borne diseases, particularly malaria. As well as a general interest in spatial epidemiology, my work focuses on issues around disease surveillance and M&E in epidemic/low-endemic settings. Much of this work is centred on the highlands of Kenya, although I am involved with a number of projects elsewhere in Africa and in SE Asia.
Teaching
I am currently Course Director of LSHTM's DrPH programme - our professional doctorate in public health. I am Section leader/deputy organiser for LSHTM's DL module 'Principals of Public Health, Biostatistics and Epidemiology', within the DL Infectious Diseases MSc. I am co-organiser of the MSc study unit 'Spatial Epidemiology in Public Health' and contribute to the study unit 'Epidemiology and Control of Malaria'.
