Teaching

Teaching Assistant for Bioinformatics and Genomics computer practicals (Molecular Virology MSc Module)

Research

Matthew's research is centered on paediatric betaherpesvirus infections and strain genotypes in Zambia. Can qualitative and quantitative detection of betaherpesvirus infections mark immunity in infants and how do genotypes present in this region compare globally? Are there associations between the genotypes and HIV status in infants and their mothers? What are the functional implications of variable genes for infection?
