The symposium will consist of four sessions on innovative data sources:
- to examine health policy;
- for health surveillance;
- for rapid response in emergencies; and
- a discussion on the opportunities and challenges for using innovative data sources for public health research.
Data sources and methods to be discussed include: Google Trends, Google Street View, Twitter, text mining, satellite imagery, and crowd sourcing. Confirmed speakers are from Oxford University, University College London, Chatham House, and the School.
