Training

  • The Library & Archives Service runs an annual programme of training, covering the following topics:

    • Literature searching for beginners

    • Literature searching for systematic reviews

    • Copyright

    • Records management

    • Research data management

    • Bibliometrics

    Library staff run classes as part of the Staff Training & Educational Development programme, the Research Degree Transferrable Skills Programme, and the teaching programme.

  • The Library & Archives Service runs training classes for research degree students as part of the Transferrable Skills Programme (TSP). Please contact the TSP staff if you have any queries about the classes offered.

    The classes run via the TSP are designed for research degree students and include training on:

    • Literature searching

    • Open access publishing

    • Copyright

    • Research data management

    Research degree students can also book a one-to-one tutorial on literature searching with a member of our team. Please email the Information Services team to arrange a suitable date and time. These must be arranged in advance.

  • The Library & Archives Service runs training for staff via Talent and Educational Development (TED). TED advertise upcoming classes via email, and classes should be booked using a TED booking form.

    The Library runs classes for staff on topics including:

    • Literature searching - both basic and advanced

    • Copyright

    • Research Data Management

    • Records Management

    • Bibliometrics
