Members of the School can access a wide variety of other libraries if the material you need is not available at the School. You can search the catalogues of nearby Libraries and UK wide. Items that are not held in nearby libraries can be ordered through the Library's Inter Library Loans Service.
Joining other libraries
All members of the School can use most libraries within the University of London for reference. You will need to show your School ID when you visit, and may need additional documentation. See the University of London Libraries Access Agreement for details.
During vacation times taught course students of the School can use other university libraries for reference via the SCONUL Summer Vacation Access Scheme.
Borrowing from other university libraries
Current members of the School can join Senate House Library by visiting the Senate House Library membership desk on the fourth floor of Senate House. Just bring your School ID to register. Academic staff are given membership for 3 years or until the end of their current contract. PSP staff and students are given membership for one year. In addition to borrowing, membership also allows users to access Senate House Library's e-resources, including JSTOR.
Members of the School can join many UK university libraries (including libraries within the University of London) as borrowers via the SCONUL Access Scheme. In order to become a member of the SCONUL Access Scheme you will need to register online via the SCONUL Access web site. Academic staff are given membership for 3 years or until the end of their current contract. Students are given membership until their LSHTM library account expiry date.
