Electronic Books

The Library provides access to an increasing number of e-books for staff and students of the School, you can access these as you would an e-journal. E-books have been provided as a back up to heavily demanded texts or where the printed copy is difficult to locate.

Myilibrary

This includes the Understanding Public Health series

This collection has comprehensive coverage of the series, with the aim of adding other heavily-used individual titles in future on a one by one basis. This is available from the School network or remote access, using your School user name and password. You can also browse the Myilibrary platform using your School log in.

Ovid Books

This is an expanding resources of online texts covering a range of health and social science material, including Virology, Epidemiology and Public Health. You need a school log in to use these resources. Once you are on the Ovid platform, select 'Books' from the links at the top of the page to view all our subscribed titles.

Science Direct books

This is a collection of encyclopedias and handbooks, designed to provide a foundational grounding in a number of subjects. This is available from the School network or remote access, using your School user name and password.

Oxford Scholarship Online

This includes books from the Public Health and Epidemiology series.  A range of key texts and reference books are included to browse and view as full text.  This is available from the School network or remote access, using your School user name and password

Oxford Reference Online

This collection includes a range of dictionaries and other referencing material. This is available from the School network or remote access, using your School user name and password.

Science and Innovation for Development

This book covers the role of science in developing tools for providing evidence and discovering solutions in key decision making and policy. It includes a chapter on improving health on a global scale through advances in science and technology. This e-book is freely available.
