LSHTM Library CataloguesOnline CatalogueThe Library's online catalogue is simply called the Library Catalogue. You should use it to search for journals and report series (but you should also check the Report Series findings list), books and pamphlets published from 1970 onwards, MSc Dissertations and PhD Theses from 1990 onwards. Some material published before 1970 is included, but you should rely on the printed catalogue described below to find this earlier material. Electronic resources can be accessed directly from the WebCat record. You can also use the Library Catalogue to renew books (User Services link) or to place holds (Request link). The User Services and Request links can be found at the top of the screen once you have connected to the Library Catalogue. For help searching the Library Catalogue see Library Catalogue: a quick guide (PDF 0.07 MB) Printed CatalogueIf you need material earlier than 1970 you need to use the printed catalogue kept in the Enquiries Desk area, which lists material going back as far as the 16th century. If you need a book published earlier than 1970 ask the Library staff at the Enquiries Desk and it will be fetched for you from the basement stacks or other closed access area. Material from the basement is collected daily at 11.30am and 4.30pm. There is a maximum limit of five items per user per collection. The collection includes some rare books and manuscripts which cannot be removed from the Library.
