The project to preserve and re-catalogue the papers of Sir Ronald Ross
and the Ross Institute is now complete. In October 2003 the Archives
was awarded funding from the Wellcome Trust Research Resources in Medical
History initiative to preserve, re-catalogue and increase accessibility
to these important collections.
Funding was required so the collections could be catalogued to archival
standards by an Archivist and to provide archival quality materials
to ensure the long-term preservation of the records. A catalogue of
the collections is now available on the archive
on-line database. This will mean that researchers from all over
the world will be able to access information on these important medical
history collections.
For researchers interested in the Ross collection an Introduction
to the Ross collection is provided as is a list of Series
level descriptions which gives details of the topics covered in
the records.
