Guest Wireless
The School provides the following methods of connecting visitors to the wireless network. If you need further advice please contact your computing support staff who will be able to advise you on the best method of authenticating your guests.
Short term visitors to the School, as individuals or at a conference, will require 'sponsorship' from a member of staff at the School before they are given access to the guest wireless network.
In using these wireless networks you agree to abide by the Regulations for Use of Networked Computing Services (intranet).
Guest Wireless Access at LSHTM | |
| The School is participating in the JRS (Eduroam) - Janet Roaming Service project run by Janet (UK) to provide network access for staff and students visiting other organisations. Using their own username and password credential provided by their home organisation, visitors can gain guest network access at a Visited organisation. Janet Roaming National Locations can be found here. Further information about the scheme and advice on how to access eduroam at LSHTM can found here. |
| lshtm-guest | This network is provided for short term visitors (1 week or less) not participating in the Janet Roaming Service (eduroam). Staff organising conferences and individual users requiring access for guests need to request 'guest' accounts from their relevent computing staff (a member of staff at the School must 'sponsor' these users access). Computing staff will provide the latest lshtm-guest network PSK (preshared key) and individual authentication details. Please try and provide at least a couple of days notice so we can make sure we have time to setup accounts for you. |
| Longer Term Guests | Guests who are going to be at the School for more than a week should be provided with a LSHTM user account for the duration of their stay. This can then be used to authenticate locally to the eduroam wireless network and other resources where neccessary. Please contact your relevant computing staff. |
