NetStorage

Introduction

LSHTM provides NetStorage as an alternative quick and basic method for transferring files between your computer and the School network.  NetStorage can be used from any computer connected to the Internet, and doesn't require any additional software to be installed.

If you're looking to copy more than a few files on a regular basis, we'd probably recommend using our Remote Desktop service, particularly when working with larger amounts of data.

NetStorage with Windows XP (only)

NetStorage integrates with Web Folders in Windows XP to provide a simple explorer-like interface to files and folders on the School network.  This drag-and-drop interface only works with Windows XP - if have a later version of Windows (or Mac or Linux), you will need to use the web interface instead.

If you've installed the Remote Desktop client on Windows XP, you'll already have the NetStorage icon on your desktop.  Otherwise you can download the NetStorage shortcut here (right-click and save to your desktop).

Enter your usual Username and Password into the login box.

Do not check 'Remember my password' if you share your computer with anyone else.
