Email with your own client
You can send and receive email from your School account with any standard mail client. Most modern mobile phones will also allow you to do this. To access your email, you will need to enter the following information:
Username and password
Enter your username and password for both outgoing and incoming email.
Username should be in the format username (for example lsh123456), although some people have found firstname.lastname works better.
Use your usual network password. When you change your password, don't forget to update it in your mail client too.
Outgoing (SMTP) server details
Server: mail.lshtm.ac.uk
Port: 25 or 587
Requires a secure connection: STARTTLS / TLS / SSL
Note: Some ISP's block access via port 25, please try 587 if you have problems sending email.
Incoming (IMAP) server details
Server: mail.lshtm.ac.uk
Port: 143 (Requires a secure connection: STARTTLS / TLS)
Or
Port: 993 (Requires a secure connection: SSL)
