Laptop Purchasing Scheme
LSHTM is part of a national scheme accessible through Studentstore which enables our students and staff to buy a notebook via a cost-effective UK university purchasing agreement.
Students and staff can purchase a Toshiba laptop at a low price, with a full range of options, insurance and support. Another advantage is that if you would prefer, you can have your laptop delivered to the school for collection, instead of your home address. Please quote the address below when ordering, if you want your purchase delivered to the School. Please visit the studentstore website for full details.

Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Academic Special Offer
Microsoft (through official resellers) offer students in the UK the opportunity to purchase the full MS Office suite at under £40, a considerable discount from the normal retail price. Also available are the Windows 7 Professional upgrade, Microsoft Office Language Pack and Microsoft Office for Mac Academic 2011 at a discount. Click here to link to the Software4students website. Stata 12
Stata 12 is available for purchase at LSHTM from the Supplies section for around £135 which is a substantial discount on the normal retail price. The version on offer to students is Stata 12 Single User IC. In order to purchase please go to the Finance Department window on the ground floor, Keppel Street. Please note that Supplies cannot offer support for the product - help is available in Student Computing Advisory in LG23b.
Endnote
The school has a site licence for EndNote bibliographic software. One of the benefits of the agreement is that all students at the School are eligible to buy the software at a discount price to install on privately owned PCs and laptops.
How to order:
To order your copy of EndNote you will need to go to the following website:
Click on the link to select London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, enter your School network username and password at the prompts and click Login when prompted. Select the version of EndNote that you require and follow the instructions to purchase.
Please Note:
The staff in Computing Advisory in room LG23b on the lower ground floor, Keppel Street are there to assist with any queries about using Endnote and indeed most of the other software students use within the School.
Apple Mac Offers
Apple have a web portal for students in higher education which gives from up to 15% off the price of a new Mac, up to 10% off Apple software, an extended three-year warranty and one-year AppleCare telephone support. The educational discounts are only available when accessing the Apple Education store from a pc on the School's network or using a laptop on the School's wireless network. We recommend that when purchasing, to use your School email address when prompted for an email address.
