Flow Cytometry (FACS)
Becton Dickenson LSR-II
3 laser, 2 scatter, 8 flurochrome LSR-II flow cytometer for Multiparameter analysis.
The standard configuration is in the accompanying document. Other configurations maybe available upon request.
This model has a High Throughput System (HTS) for acquiring data from 96 well plates and FACSFlow Supply system for ease of use in operation.
The Computer runs FACSDiva 6.0 and Cytometer setup and tracking (CST) software.

The 488nm (Ar) and 635nm red diode lasers allow 4 fluorescence and 2 light scatter parameter detection.
The accompanying FACSFlow Supply System provides for ease of use in operation.
This machine is used for mouse and human cell analysis; parasite life-cycle evaluation and bead base analysis.
The Macintosh Computer runs CellQuest, Cytometric Bead Array (CBA) software.
There is a second FACS Calibur located in our Containment Level 3 laboratory for work with Category 3 pathogens. This model has a Carousel option, and the Macintosh Computer runs CellQuest and Worklist Manager software for acquisition.
Flow Cytometric Data Analysis
There is a Macintosh Workstation located on the 6th floor specifically for the Analysis of Flow Cytometric data using FlowJo.
USB dongles for the use of FlowJo; FACSDiva and FCAP Array software on User’s own computers are available for short-term loan.
There is a second Macintosh Workstation located on the 6th floor for anyone still wishing to use CellQuest for Analysis.
There is a copy of Modfit LTand located on the Luminex PC workstation on the 6th floor.
There is limited Data Storage on the local hard drives and Users are encouraged to save to CD/ DVD or Network spaces.
