Research Skills
Introduction
Following its success over the last three years we will be offering again the new in-house programme called Management on the Horizon (MOTH) with a tailored stream for research staff (mainly Research Fellows) who either aspire to hold a management position in the future or who wish to explore this area for their personal development.
The Career Development Programme for Research Staff has become an established element of the in-house provision aimed particularly at early-career researchers and is a key opportunity to take stock and consider a range of possibly future career directions. There are also stand-alone workshops on writing skills for junior research staff, and regular workshops on literature searching and copyright.
The Transitions Workshop, Facing and Making Changes, for staff wishing to consider how to approach a period of personal, professional or career change will be taking place again in May 2013 with the follow-up option of one-to-one coaching.
Two new in-house workshops specifically for Research Staff have been arranged this year:
- Personal Impact and Confident Networking Skills for Early-Career Research Staff
- Preparing for Fellowship Interviews and Pitches to Funding Panels
