Research Skills

Including personal transferable skills development, career development and planning for post-doctoral research staff

Introduction

Following a successful pilot last year we will be offering again the new in-house programme called Management on the Horizon (MOTH) with a tailored stream for research staff (mainly Research Fellows) who either aspire to hold a management position in the future or who wish to explore this area for their personal development.

A new addition to the programme this year will be an in-house course on Personal Organisation for Research Staff. Full details of this will be circulated once finalised.

The Career Development Programme for Research Staff and the Intensive Programme in Writing Biomedical Research Papers are both being run again this year. The Intensive Programme is in addition to the stand-alone workshops on writing skills for junior research staff, and the regular workshops on literature searching and Endnote.

The new Transitions Workshop, Facing and Making Changes, for staff wishing to consider how to approach a period of personal, professional or career change will be taking place again in May with the follow-up option of one-to-one coaching.
