Public Health in the Developed World Careers Forum

Wednesday 8th February , 5:30 - 6:45 pm, John Snow Lecture Theatre

We are inviting speakers to take part in a careers panel discussion focussing on the topic of ‘Public Health in the Developed World’.The panel will be made up of approximately 6 participants from a variety of organisations working in various aspects of health such as health policy, public health education, health systems, economics and standards setting, health protection and surveillance and non-academic health research. The aim is to allow students to garner a better understanding of specific roles and organisations in these areas and an awareness of entry points and career progression. Please note: you do not have to sign up for this event. This event is organised by the LSHTM Careers Service.

Exploring Graduate Entry to Medicine

14th February 2012. Day long event.

Medical careers are now open to a wider range of people than ever before. Accelerated medical courses are designed specifically to train graduates with a non-medical degree as doctors. This course will help you to find out about: specific degrees, by talking to admissions staff, course organisers and medical students, the major differences between the courses offered, how to fund your medical degree, writing a successful application form and support statement, the various entrance exams schools use.
