Health and Safety at the School
The School has an established Health and Safety Policy and Safety Manual, which are reviewed and updated annually. Copies of the Policy and Manual, along with additional supporting information, are available on the School's intranet and are part of the School's freedom of information schedule.
The Safety Committee, consisting of representatives from the Schools departments and trades unions meets three times a year, reporting to the Council. During the past year there have been no incidents which required reporting to the Health and Safety Executive under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995. The Committee has continued to consider a range of issues, including health and safety for staff and students working away from any of the School's directly managed sites.
The Safety Office manages the occupational health service provision for its staff and students and is closely involved in developing and managing the School's business continuity and emergency plans. It is additionally contracted to supply health and safety services to two neighbouring colleges and one collaborative centre within the Bloomsbury Consortium.
