I am a specialist registrar in infectious diseases and microbiology and have been appointed to the LSHTM/Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD scheme. My research is on dengue and is based at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Vietnam (www.oucru.org) under the supervision of Rosanna Peeling (LSHTM), Cameron Simmons (Oxford) and Bridget Wills (Oxford).
I have previously worked as a clinician in Zambia and Uganda and studied the MSc in TMIH at LSHTM in 2007-8.

Teaching
I will be a tutor for the malaria module (part of the distance learning MSc in infectious diseases) from 2012.
Research
Dengue is globally the most important arboviral infection and places an enormous strain on health systems in developing countries. The aim of my research is to improve the management of patients with severe dengue. We plan to develop a prognostic algorithm that will predict patients at risk of severe disease. There is increasing evidence that statins may have a beneficial role in critically ill patients - we plan to assess their potential role in dengue.
