I completed my undergraduate studies in Boston at Tufts University in community health and child development. During my studies, I spent a semester in Ghana where I did an independent study on childhood malnutrition in Greater Accra. I then did a Masters in Public Health at Boston University School of Public Health in epidemiology and international health. During my MPH studies, I spent a summer interning with the Child and Adolescent Health and Development Department at the WHO where I completed a secondary data analysis examining infant malnutrition assessed using the new WHO child growth standards and its relationship with infant mortality and exclusive breastfeeding.

Research
I am a team member of the Newhints trial in rural Ghana. This is a cluster randomised controlled trial which aims to improve newborn care practices through routine antenatal and postnatal home visits by community volunteers, and by so doing improve neonatal mortality. My research involves the evaluation of this intervention on the adoption of recommended care-taking and care-seeking practices among mothers of low birth weight babies in the study area.
